Reflective Blog post

Post on your blog the link to your group's video and the reflective writing (400 words):

What was difficult about this project and what was easy?

What was interesting, surprising, frustrating?

What changed the most from the beginning to the end of the project?

What were your group dynamics like?

How well was your group able to improvise, share ideas, share leadership, etc.?

How did your group use the principles of improv in their collaboration?

What specifically did you contribute to the group?

Lastly, what worked and what needed more work in your project?

Things I found difficult about this project included coming up with an idea and finding a song. My group and I initially struggled to come up with a plot and idea. We solved this by all drawing out a sketch then comparing them all and incorporating each others scenes into the project. After doing this we had made up Scene 1. This was just the beginning. We thought the new outline for our performance should include 2 other scenes. After this we needed music. We decided to use my song. However, sort of last minute after hearing other peoples songs we knew we needed something that synced better. The song we choose was a lot better for timing and fit the mood. Things I found easy were deciding lighting and assigning roles. Lighting was personally easy because there are only so many options. I also had colors assigned to each scene in my head because that's how I envisioned the scenes. The roles we choose were easy to decide because for some reason earlier on we had just added random names to the scenes as examples and they stuck. We took time to think it over but the people we chose to do what worked well. The group dynamic wasn't exactly too ideal. Both Flora and I contributed a lot and Jason was a little shy. By the end we got him to warm up and share more. We all were in the same headspace for the performance so we didn't really challenge each others ideas and provide different ideas. We had one option and it stuck. Our group improvised well as we messed up in some scenes in the practice. We all new generally where we needed to be so improvising was no problem. Sharing ideas was a little stiff at first. We were all a bit awkward and didn't know what to say. Thats why I suggested we all make an ideal scene on our own then compare. Sharing leadership was no problem. We all let each other speak and even encouraged partners to speak more. Overall, we worked well as a group. I only wish we got more ideas bouncing around. We used the principles of improv a lot in our collaboration. We said "yes...and" when talking to each other and building scenes. We also used it silently as a transition from scene to scene. I contributed a lot to the group. Specifically the starting idea to all combine our ideas. I also found the song to use. I was the one that mostly made scene 1 as well as all of scene 3. I also helped with lighting ideas. Finding what beats were what cues in our song was also mostly me. Things that worked in our project were the moves once finalized, our intent to get the job done, and our want for the best possible quality. Things that could've used more work include our song, and the emotion shown with body language.
